In 2021, I’m choosing to connect with the possibility that my OLW may look different than what I anticipated in December of 2020. And that’s okay.
Thanks to Ethical ELA’s Open Write, I was brave enough to draft a poem on my hubby’s birthday yesterday to celebrate his life and how we’ve grown while also using my 2021 One Little Word.
November provided me the opportunity to gain perspective in three key areas of my identity: motherhood, teacher, and writer.
I attempted to commit to One Little Word a couple of years ago, but I didn’t do much with it. It’s a word I still love – celebrate – but I didn’t understand the concept of carrying a word for an entire year. The idea is attractive; it just felt like too long of a commitment.
