We decided to spend our spring break driving with a toddler and infant to Sea World and then across the border to Mexico.

We planned to cross in Laredo, but received news of, well….some manifestations. (The decision making and stress from that caused me to almost forget about posting yesterday..)

My brilliant, problem solving momma drove us across (a different crossing). It was safe. It was easy. The only thought going through my mind as I sat in my air conditioned van full of food, full of gas, and full of smiles was the mamás who cross that river babies in tow.

We’ve been welcomed with so much love.

And so much delicious food!

This is so beautiful. I love the images mixed in. They compliment the writing so nicely, adding details without words. I’m also in love with that countryside, as it reminds me so much of Ecuador.

Food. Love. Joy. I mean…what else do you need?
I love how you also brought us the images of your trip, and yes. That easy border crossing for us is something that I know I take for granted, knowing how many people in our world need to cross a border of one kind or another and…can’t.
Thank your for this post.

Glad you were able to get away for Spring Break. I hope the return was just as easy. Thinking of the moms and their kids who don’t have the comforts you describe is an important reality check. Thank you for posting.
