Over at Ethical ELA, we’ve been inspired to use photographs captured during the time of COVID and compose a free verse poem. It’s been a silly day, so I’m veering a bit from the pictures that were making me sad; instead, I’m celebrating some of the fun that was born from a pandemic! (Embarrassing picture included)
I selected words from the caption under a photograph in this CNN article to compose my poem.
happy birthday

world would learn

First of all, HOW. DID. I. NOT. KNOW. ABOUT. ETHICAL ELA? I’ve just put them into my Feedly blogroll. Thank you! I think stanza #2 is my favorite – there are so many directions its meaning can go…

Glad you veered away from sad and went with fun. I see nothing embarrassing about the picture.

So much joy in that picture and your poem to go with it. It’s hard to find, sometimes, so I’m glad you shared what you have!
